Mövenpick Hotel Kindness Campaign
Mövenpick Hotel Hobart is extending its support for the Hobart Women’s Shelter through the global Kilo of Kindness campaign.
For two years, the initiative has collected hundreds of kilos of pantry staples and hygiene products, donated by guests and staff to help women and children in crisis.
Running from 13 October to 4 November 2025, the campaign aligns with Hobart’s Warm Hearts program, showcasing how local businesses can make a meaningful difference through everyday acts of kindness.

Lego Store Coming To Hobart
Lego is set to open its first Tasmanian store in Hobart’s Elizabeth Street Mall, taking over the former Rivers outlet at 38 Elizabeth Street.
The heritage-listed Romanesque-style building, constructed in 1917, will be transformed with Lego’s trademark brick-pattern cladding, illuminated signage, and interactive lightboxes.
Lego’s Asia Pacific Director said the store will act as a creative hub, offering play experiences, displays, and events for families, while respecting Hobart’s heritage character.
The project aims to attract both locals and visitors.
Tassie Tour Guide Wins Major Award
Tasmanian tour guide Cat Davidson from Inala Nature Tours has been named Australia’s Top Tour Guide for 2025 at a ceremony in Canberra.
Known for blending science with storytelling, Davidson was praised for showcasing Tasmania’s natural environment and creating meaningful visitor experiences.
The win follows her earlier success as the inaugural Tassie Tour Guide Award recipient.
Tasmanian towns also shone nationally, with Deloraine and Devonport each securing silver medals in the Australia’s Top Tourism Town Awards.
Helping Hands For Tassie Wildlife
Staff at ibis Styles Hobart swapped uniforms for work gloves, joining Wildlife Safe Tasmania in a hands-on working bee to support injured and orphaned animals.
The team painted nesting boxes, planted trees, and even built a bandicoot bungalow, learning valuable wildlife care skills along the way.
Their efforts not only aided local conservation but also enriched guest experiences, with staff now sharing authentic insights.
The initiative aligns with Hobart’s Warm Hearts campaign, showcasing kindness and community spirit.
