Winter In Hobart Is Packed With Events

Hobart is packed with events this winter!

From the bold vibes of Dark Mofo (June 5–15) and its free-entry Winter Feast on June 15, to singing at Festival of Voices, science fun at Beaker Street and Festival of Bright Ideas, and tunes at Hot August Jazz and Cool August Blues.

Don’t forget weekly Salamanca and Farm Gate Markets, plus 50+ free Healthy Hobart fitness sessions!

Dream House Of The Week

This extraordinary property takes its name from Little Peppermint Bay to the south and Perch Bay to the north, perfectly situated between the charming towns of Woodbridge and Kettering.

The single-level homestead commands a breathtaking wide vista across the protected waters of the D'Entrecasteaux Channel, stretching toward both North and South Bruny Island.

Tasmanian TV Milestone

Tasmanian TV legends gathered in Hobart to celebrate 65 years since the first local broadcast from TVT6, now WIN Television.

The reunion honoured decades of storytelling, from its 1960 launch on New Town Road to iconic programs of the ’80s.

Former newsreader Tom Payne and Rupert Rabbit star Tony Fox shared fond memories, marking the station’s legacy in shaping Tasmania’s media landscape and connecting communities across generations.

Water Bills On The Rise

TasWater bills are going up again — by 13 cents a day (around $46 a year) from July 1, with a 3.5% price rise.

It’s the fourth straight annual increase, driven by rising costs and aging infrastructure.

Bigger hikes could follow in 2026 as TasWater plans future upgrades and seeks community input on water security and customer support.
