Restaurant Of The Week

Me Wah – meaning “Exquisite Setting” – is a renowned Chinese restaurant offering a refined dining experience that balances elegance with simplicity.

Known for its impeccable service and exceptional cuisine, Me Wah has become one of Tasmania’s most respected dining establishments, recognised by both industry peers and loyal guests.

With a long list of prestigious awards, Me Wah continues to set the benchmark for fine dining excellence in a setting that is truly, as the name suggests, exquisite.

30 Years Of Point To Pinnacle

Tasmania’s iconic Point to Pinnacle race returns on Sunday, 16 November 2025, marking 30 years since runners first tackled what’s now known as the world’s toughest half marathon.

Starting at Wrest Point Casino, the course climbs 21.4km to the summit of kunanyi/Mount Wellington, ascending over 1,270 metres.

To celebrate the milestone, organisers will host a special charity dinner on race night, honouring participants and the $4.5 million raised for causes like Movember and Carries Beanies 4 Brain Cancer.

New Spirit Ferry Nears Home Waters

The Spirit of Tasmania IV is on its final leg across the Indian Ocean, headed for Fremantle, after departing Scotland on June 30.

The ferry stopped in Gibraltar, Cape Verde, Cape Town, and Mauritius, and is expected to arrive in Hobart by the end of August.

Once operational, it will replace the current Bass Strait vessels, offering modern upgrades for travellers between Geelong and Devonport.
