Hobart Directory Launches
We have created a new website for Greater Hobart!
The Hobart Directory is a business directory for all things Hobart, but will also include things like coupons and deals, events listings, and a classifieds section.
If you are a business owner, we highly recommend that you claim your business listing, and lock in Lifetime Early Bird pricing.
We are busily working through the huge process of adding all the listings, so please contact us via the website, for a claimable listing to be added for your business.
Property Of The Week
This charming Howden home at 430 Howden Road offers the perfect blend of bushland serenity and sparkling water views.
Set among landscaped gardens with fruit trees, it features a spacious entertainer’s deck ideal for BBQs.
Inside, there are three bedrooms — the master with an ensuite — plus a utility room ready for a new bathroom.
Just a short stroll to the water, it’s an ideal retreat for families, retirees, or anyone seeking a peaceful coastal lifestyle.
First Look At Tasmania Devils Facility
The Tasmania Football Club has submitted a planning application to Kingborough Council for a $105 million high-performance training and administration centre in Kingston.
Set to open before the club’s AFL and AFLW debut in 2028, the state-of-the-art facility will house both on- and off-field staff.
CEO Brendon Gale says the design balances elite sporting needs with the precinct’s community character and environmental values, following extensive local engagement sessions to refine the proposal.
Hobart School Cuts Ties To Weapons Sponsored Programs
The Friends’ School in Hobart has banned student participation in programs sponsored by weapons manufacturers or defence organisations, citing its Quaker values of peace, integrity, equality, simplicity, and community.
The move, effective immediately, excludes involvement in initiatives like The National Youth Science Forum and The Science and Engineering Challenge.
Principal Esther Hill said the change aims to teach that peace is a daily practice.

25 Years Of “Tasmanians Saving Tasmanians”
Rotor-Lift, Tasmania’s rescue helicopter operator, is marking 25 years of service with a Metro bus campaign featuring Premier Jeremy Rockliff’s praise as “the best of the best.”
Managing director Alanna Corbin said the “Tasmanians saving Tasmanians” message celebrates over 14,000 missions since 2000.
The bus ad originated from a Make-A-Wish charity auction win, coinciding with uncertainty over Rotor-Lift’s future as it awaits the result of a government tender for statewide aeromedical services.
Corbin emphasised the vital role of local knowledge in Tasmania’s challenging conditions.
