Airport Expansion Update
Hobart Airport has unveiled the first stage of its $200 million terminal expansion, with a new security screening area opening Monday.
The redevelopment will double the terminal’s size by 2027 and showcase Tasmanian-inspired design, including Russet Tan walls, forest green seating, and blackwood tables from reclaimed timber.
Passengers will benefit from simplified security checks with CT bag x-ray scanners, body scanners, and an extra screening lane.
The project follows a record 2.8 million passengers last year, forecast to reach 3.5 million by 2030.

Restaurant Of The Week
The Roaring Grill has earned its reputation as one of Hobart’s premier dining spots, showcasing Tasmania’s world-class produce with flair.
From Cape Grim beef to Bruny Island oysters and Robbins Island Wagyu, the menu is a true paddock-to-plate celebration.
The steaks are the star — cooked to perfection and paired with an impressive Tasmanian wine list.
Add attentive service, a lively yet relaxed atmosphere, and generous servings, and you’ve got one of Hobart’s must-visit dining experiences.
Hobart Show Early Bird Tickets
Early bird tickets are now on sale for the 2025 Royal Hobart Show, running October 23–25 at the Regatta Grounds with events also at the Goods Shed, Lauderdale Equestrian Centre and Hobart Showground.
Families who book before October 12 can save 26%, with tickets priced at $37 instead of $50. Discounted adult ($14) and child ($7) tickets are also available online.
Organisers promise full entertainment access and a major children’s headline act.

Where To Eat Late In Tasmania
Finding a late-night meal in Tasmania can be tricky, but Hobart and Launceston have some great options.
Hobart standouts include Bar Wa Izakaya (open until 11pm nightly), Yummy Inn City and Jungle Restaurant (both until 11:30pm), and The Den, Lost in Asia, and Tandoor & Curry House serving until 10pm.
In Launceston, Mudbar stays open until midnight, while Northern Public House and Black Cow Bistro keep their kitchens running late into the night.
